Southside FM South Africa is a proud South Indian community radio station, launched on 13 May 2022. The idea of Southside FM was conceptualized in 2009. Fast forward to February 2022, a group of motivated individuals in Durban brought this station to life. The main aim of the radio station is to establish a valued, vital, and vibrant radio to facilitate mindful communication, understanding, and appreciation among the different language and cultural groups within the South Indian communities. Southside FM seeks to inspire people to look at the world from multiple perspectives to promote and sustain nation-building efforts.
Following the discussions between TBW and Southside FM a MOU is in the process of being entered into between the two parties where TBW will be responsible for the commercial arm of the station. In this respect TBW will generate income through sponsorships, advertising and fundraising activities which will pay for the day to day running of the radio station.
